SPIRITUAL PRACTICE:

Practitioner is the title given to students who have completed 4 to 5 years of education in the Science of Mind philosophy and spiritual counseling methods. Practitioners are spiritual counselors who are trained to know the spiritual reality of this life experience and who provide support services to community members in time of challenge or when there is the need to make a correct decision.

In the fall of 2009 seventeen students completed Practitioner 2 class, took the licensing test and most soon will take the oral exams. This large class of people includes three students under 23 years old, and many others who are now teaching assistants. Soon this group will be taking the Science of Mind teaching out into the wider Ukraine community.

The most important thing a spiritual student of consciousness does is practice –
that is, to bring the theoretical teaching to life in how we live and interact with each other, with our communities and with our earthly home. We do that through conscious contact with the infinite presence in all life. Each spiritual tradition has its own particular way of focus daily practice, and in most ways, they all point the to the same direction – the inner landscape.

Buddhism has the 8 fold path : Right Views Right Thoughts, Right Speech, Right Action, Right Livelihood, Right Effort, Right Mindfulness, Right Meditation.

Native Americans honor the great spirit in all things that live and breathe as well as the elements of earth, water, fire and air.

Christ demonstrated devotion to communion with God, in whom all things are possible, and the path of love and forgiveness as the way to salvation from the hell of misguided living.

The shamans of Mexico demonstrate the power of knowing our energetic selves for the purpose of personal transformation and awareness of the multi-sensory dimensions of reality through the art of living an impeccable life of a warrior. All roads lead home.

We, today’s spiritual warriors, use all of this wisdom and, perhaps most valuable, is that we we prove to ourselves what is our own path to enlightenment.

Science of Mind is an inclusive teaching that says we are each responsible for our reality and the path to freedom is through self-mastery and taking responsibility for our creative beliefs, thoughts, words and actions. Whatever tradition is yours, use it to the best of your ability – give it your full attention each day and it will serve you forever.

Daily practice according to Science of Mind is whatever keeps you growing on your spiritual path. We teach affirmative, scientific prayer, known as Spiritual Mind Treatment as well as meditation and affirmations. We advise daily inspirational reading, keeping a personal journal for recording questions, insights, self-awareness and inner explorations. Also recommended is a healthy balance of life functions such as contemplation, work, play, loving friends and relationships, a sense of purpose for living, gratitude for what is given and the desire to live fully, circulating the life force in all we do. We teach the values of unconditional love of self and others, of forgiveness, acceptance and gratitude, and the control of internal dialogue, all of which support us to live more joyful, loving and fruitful lives. Our work is based on consciousness of unity, wholeness and unconditional love.

One simple metaphor for consciousness is that of a spiritual bank account – each day you deposit or withdraw with each thought, word and deed. The more you deposit by making conscious choices of what you think, say and do, the greater the balance is in your account. When we are faced with a life challenge, it is the balance in our spiritual account that determines how we handle the situation. When our account is low, we more often react with fear, distrust, judgment or worry and when we have a healthy balance it is easier to respond with patience, respect, openness and love. It is simple. But it takes discipline to practice and implement the methods that work to grow our relationship with the Infinite Presence within ourselves and with all.

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT:

Spiritual Mind Treatment – is a wonderful and scientifically clear process for changing consciousness and changing conditions through the transformation of our awareness and state of being. It begins with a clear purpose then 5 steps: Recognition (of the one universal creative principle and presence), Unification (realizing that in truth we are always in unity with it), Realization (Intending the direction of our acceptance of good then affirming that good already exists and making it welcome in our consciousness by our willingness to receive), Thanksgiving (Giving thanks for the ever present abundance of life and for the creative process and spiritual laws that we use to create anew) and Release (letting all doubt fall away, replaced with trust and confidence in the law of life to bring to us according to our beliefs). This practice of communing with the Divine Presence guides us into a different state of consciousness and, from this level of remembering our unity and wholeness, we clearly affirm the desired reality we are focusing on, calling it to us with our intent to transcend our limitations and know our true selves and in trust, we let go and let life do it’s work through us.

MEDITATION:

Meditation – is a process of stilling our mind and consciously connecting with the Infinite Presence - a process of tuning our attention to the subtle tone of Spirit which is ever present when we truly listen. It serves to create more calm and balance in our body and mind and opens the channel of our intuition, allowing us to perceive inner wisdom and universal truth in a direct way which then can guide our journey. It enables us to disentangle our true self from our ego self thereby freeing our energy and thoughts for right action.

AFFIRMATIONS:

Affirmations – are positive, affirmative statements in the present tense that serve as a declaration of intention, clearing the way in our consciousness to accept the desired experience, Creating a daily focal point, affirmations assist us in identifying and then dissolving or eliminating our limiting thinking.
