SCIENCE OF MIND PHILOSOPHY:

We believe that we are spiritual beings having a human experience and that all of life is really contained within a system of unity – of wholeness – one with Spirit and one with all. Life is meant to be lived fully, joyfully, recognizing the order, harmony, well-being, abundance, beauty and love that is present everywhere within all things and all people. In this thing called life, there are infinite possibilities and dimensions to be experienced. Where we take it is up to us, not through will power, but from using our will to direct where we put our attention, thereby allowing ourselves to be in the flow of life, letting ourselves be available to the majesty of Spirit at work. “I put my attention where I want my life to be” a favorite quote of - Barbara Leger

This teaching works on many levels depending on the inclinations of each person. People can use it simply for improving their quality of life, or for changing a particular condition, habit or pattern of thought, for becoming more conscious and successful, for learning and applying timeless universal truths into our daily life, for transforming the inner and outer world of personal experience and/or for transcending the daily awareness and discovering the mystical nature of living. The choice is ours.

Science of Mind has no rules about what to think, believe, say or do. That is all personal choice. But we know that what we think, believe, say and do is powerfully creating our experience. We do say that it is important to observe and know yourself in order to make more conscious choices – become aware of what you think, believe, say and do and then decide for yourself if it is serving your self-realization, and if not, the power to change is within you. “There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so” - William Shakespeare

Knowing that we shape the quality of our experience by the quality of our state of mind, our beliefs, our perceptions and our intentions, we see that our actions flow from within and the result is our life. This is the law of life’s creative process. We believe that ultimately we are the author of our experience and therefore we can, for the most part, choose how we experience life. Of course there are things that affect us from the larger world, things outside of our control and situations that cause challenging times and yet, through it all, we do have the right to choose our responses. To align with the energy of spiritual truth allows us to overcome the darkness with the light. "The world will persist in exhibiting before you what you persist in affirming the world is" - Emma Curtis Hopkins.

For example, let us say that you want to be a more beloved and loving person, but your thoughts and beliefs (both conscious and unconscious) reinforce that you are not worthy of love, how hard loving is, or how people always hurt you, and so on. Now look at your life and you will see that your experience clearly demonstrates that your thoughts and beliefs are more powerful than your current desire to be a more beloved and loving person. They will reflect the consciousness of your thoughts and beliefs, and, if we are willing to grow, we will see what we are thinking and believing. The choice becomes clear, either continue in the current pattern of thought and belief which guarantees that you will continue to experience life as you do now, or change your pattern of thought and belief so that life can flow in a new direction towards a more beloved and loving you. It’s all up to you. “Whether you think you are right or think you are wrong, you are right” -Henry Ford.

This is a path of personal responsibility. A simple slogan: change your thinking, change your life. The power to create it is within each of us, although it takes commitment, attention, discipline, faith and daily practice. Welcome to Science of Mind – a positive and empowering way to live.

“Until one is committed.there is hesitancy, the change to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits onself, then Providence moves to. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events follow from the decision, raising in one's favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamt would have come his way. I have learned a deep respect for one of Goethe's couplets: Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it."G. K. Chesterson.
